With a Degree in Leisure Services, a Master's of Science in Kinsiology, Sport Management and Diplomas in Fitness, Nutrition and Marketing, along with nearly 30 years of upper-level management experience, Tom Watson is a respected leader in the recreation industry. Tom's professional skillset was honed early in his career while working with multiple municipalties in leadership capacities. In 1999 Tom founded Recreation Excellence. Now celebrating 20 years of operations, Tom and his team have a proven track record of successfully managing municipal facilities throughout Western Canada. Due to the award-winning success of Recreation Excellence, Tom has become a sought after consultant in the recreation industry having worked across Canada, the United States of America, and around the world.

Tom's passion for customer service lead him to become a sought after Customer Service Trainer. Tom has worked with numerous municipalities and companies across North America such as Telus, BC Hydro, Advanced Flooring Inc. and the Electrical Contractors Association to elevate their internal and external customer experience and loyalty. A creative consultant, and positive team organizer, Tom is also a noted motivational speaker and author of the best selling book "Man Shoes." Possessing an Elite Life Coach certification, Tom knows how to relight the fire within your organizations.

Don has been actively engaged in the sports, recreation and active living for over 30 years in British Columbia and Alberta.  As a senior leader for municipal, post-secondary, and non profit organizations, finding innovative solutions is second nature to him. Many of the his career highlights required assessment of information streams, networking with industry leaders and uncovering innovative solutions for his clients and organizations.  He has been actively involved as a leader with provincial parks and recreation associations as well as nationally post secondary recreation organizations. Don is driven by a personal mission to prove the impact of sports, recreation and active living services on human and community development.

Peter followed a public recreation career with first a 50% ownership of Leisure Aquatics, and then Recreation Excellence.

With a true passion for recreation, he provided innovative ideas and customer-driven service to the public recreation industry in aquatics, arena operations, therapeutic recreation, and first aid training.

Core to Peter’s recreation philosophy is that quality service results in higher participation and, when well managed, better cost recovery.

Today you will find Peter still very active in the recreation community, both on a personal level and also by working as a consultant to Recreation Excellence.  His main focuses are:

• Project Budgeting and Planning
• Review and analysis of ongoing projects

Brad Pack demonstrated a passion for sports through his elementary and high school years by participating in numerous competitive sport programs (basketball, badminton, and swimming). His desire to learn and educate himself regarding sport and wellness continued through his time at the University of Alberta, where he completed a Bachelors degree in Physical Education, majoring in Athletic Training & Conditioning.

With 20 years in the Aquatic industry and 30 years in management, Brad has been with the Recreation Excellence team for over 10 years. As a previous business owner (Restaurant, Disc Jockey and Courier businesses), he is extremely aware of the importance of Customer Service and of going the extra mile to get the job done right.

He currently leads a team in Lethbridge that oversees the operation of Four (4) aquatic facilities for the City of Lethbridge. Three indoor facilities and one outdoor facility.

Sunni Belle became an aquatics enthusiast at 6 months of age in Lethbridge Alberta, when her father introduced her to swimming. Upon her first submersion she came up through the water with a giant smile on her face and has never looked back. Sunni began instructing swimming lessons in 1997 for the City of Red Deer, where she embraced her aquatics career becoming a Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Trainer and Red Cross First Aid Instructor. Throughout her time working for the City of Red Deer, she had many different roles that varied from a slide attendant all the way up to different supervisory positions in the aquatic field. In 2009 Sunni decided to go back home to Lethbridge AB where she is now The Assistant General Manager for Recreation Excellence in Lethbridge. Sunni is still an active Water Safety Instructor and Instructor Trainer, First Aid Instructor, National Lifeguard Instructor and continues to share her knowledge and passion with the community through work and volunteer opportunities.

Jessica has worked in Recreation for over 10 years. She has been a lifeguard for the same amount of time. Working in recreation facilities is her passion. Jessica has worked in many parts of the world experiencing different cultures and learning how to create and modify the recreational needs of each community. Her objectives are to help build and create a recreation facility that allows every patron that walks through the doors feel safe, have fun, and to push themselves. Jessica is a graduate of the Recreation Program from Langara College. This program has allowed Jessica to develop her leadership skills, and continue to help community programs expand in the right direction!

Martha Marks is an Active Living Coordinator with Recreation Excellence. In this role, Martha leads a team providing mentorship in all aspects of our community programing and facility wellness areas, including weight room,  fitness programs and social media. A big believer in wholeness, Martha supports a state of being perfectly well in body, soul (mind, will and emotions) and spirit. Martha is a qualified fitness instructor, personal trainer and administrator, she holds the certification from the YMCA, BCRPA and Canfit Pro. 


Martha is no stranger to the fitness industry having spent 6 years as a fitness instructor and a personal trainer, which taught her the importance of being a real and active part of individual goal setting and achieving. Her experience of health and wellness across fitness centers has built her passion, purpose, caring and coaching for individuals.

Martha helps our clients to achieve their goals. After a successful career start with Recreation Excellence, Martha now teaches other people how to achieve the same success. Martha’s varied background in fitness provided the perfect foundation for the role she plays in our community programming. She is passionate about wellness and its possibilities.
